It got a bit easier to be green, especially for those who find frog dog toys irresistible.
My dog saw her first frog. It was cute – both the frog and my dog’s reaction. She saw the frog before I did and pulled toward what I thought was a patch of my neighbour’s garden. It wasn’t a patch of grass, it was a frog … or more likely a big fat toad huddled motionless on a rock.

Then the frog lept forward, and my dog lunged back. My pup was curious, but she was as startled by the odd amphibian as he was of her. She didn’t chase the toad – and hasn’t seen one since.
Yet, out of nostalgia for my puppy’s first frog-like encounter, I gravitated toward frog toys while combing through the catalogs of products showcased at SuperZoo, an annual pet industry show. Meet the frog-themed toys destined to become your puppy’s next enrichment opportunity:

1. Patchwork Pets
Cute and brightly coloured Patchwork Pets has introduced a line of Tugger toys called Chubby Tuggers – soft plush in the middle with rope legs and ‘arms’ for light tugging fun. A signature feature is the ‘pull through’ rope. Collect all six characters (affiliate link) including the green frog because these look a lot like children’s toys, but are designed specifically for fur babies.

2. FabDog Floaties
FabDog Floaties come in a variety of different water-themed animals including whales (affiliate link) and ducks, but this big green frog fit our theme. This water-buoyant toy is made from neoprene and recycled materials and is built to withstand tough play.
Easy to carry and toss, this might be your next dock diving toy if your dog gets attached – and likes to leap.

3. Jolly Pets Monster Mouth
Ok, so technically, the Jolly Pets Monster Mouth (affiliate link) toy isn’t a frog. But it sure looks like one to me, so it made the list. This is one of the durable rubber dog chews typical of the Jolly Pets Tuff Toy line.
The monster’s mouth doubles as a treat holder. You can even stuff it with peanut butter or frozen dog treats and make it a day of enrichment. Suitable for dogs larger than 30 pounds or 14 kg.

4. Zippy Pets Donut Frog
I’m a fan of Zippy Pets plush toys and my dog particularly likes donuts. One of their latest styles is this frog donut – one of the company’s Donutz Buddies line – with embroidered sprinkles and squeaker inside. Whether it’s a frog or a donut (affiliate link), it’s pretty cute. Four different sizes available. Made from plush on the exterior and plastic interior.
5. SodaPups’ tree frog slow feeder enrichment tray

Pet people will find the designs fun; pets will find SodaPups products a source of challenging enrichment. SodaPup creates brightly coloured solid plastic enrichment products from etrays to emats (the ‘e’ stands for enrichment), and creative slow feeds including a bright green tree frog design (affiliate link), adding to the very popular blue wave option.
Most slow feeders aren’t deep enough, says the company owner: “Ours are designed so the dog has to use its tongue, not snout, to retrieve its dinner.” This bright green tree frog enrichment bowl slows your pup down, and it’s cute to look at. SodaPups slow feeders are made in the USA from non-toxic food safe hard plastic. Check out our review of the SodaPups Halloween Bundle Box here.
