February 11, 2023 – Mississauga Steelheads Pucks N’ Pups, Mississauga, Ontario
Love hockey? We love taking our dog everywhere and why not to a hockey game? Join the Ontario Hockey League Mississauga Steelheads on Pucks N’ Paws day February 11 when they play the Sudbury Wolves and bring your dog. April 7, 8 & 9, 2023 – Spring Canadian Pet Expo, Mississauga, Ontario
Toronto looks forward to the annual Spring Canadian Pet Expo. This pet related trade show is held annually Easter Weekend at the International Centre near the Toronto airport. Pets are welcome, and it’s host to Canada’s largest Cat Show, Dog Lovers Days Lure Courses, Aqua Dogs Dock Diving and Canine Stars Stunt Dog performances. April 16, 2023 – Indoor Rescue Walk and Fun Day, Mississauga, Ontario
Westies in Need Rescue invites you to the Westie Indoor Play Day! This is FUNdraising event with lots of space for your dog to run around and have fun off leash while you check out the fabulous sales table. Westies in Need Rescue always have great stuff for sale. Join the group for a good run around with other Westies and Westie Wannabes at the Mississauga Valley Park, 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd., Mississauga, Ontario.
April 17, 2023 – Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs in Oakville, Brampton, Calgary (Alberta), Guelph, Kitchener, London, St.Catharines and Windsor, Ontario
A fundraiser for National Service Dogs, this annual event started in Oakville in 1998 and has spread to other cities on Good Friday every year. Participants collect pledges and are given two egg cartons to collect up to 24 plastic eggs containing dog treats. One leashed dog per participant welcome. $25 per family. www.nsd.on.ca

May 1, 2023 (and every weekend until Sept. 1, 2023) – Dog Days of Summer, Clear Creek (Norfolk County), Ontario
Hounds of Erie Winery, a popular Norfolk County stop for dog people, is reviving the Dog Days of Summer breed meet up events throughout the summer. Each Sunday, the cider and winery producer hosts a different breed (and mix) event among the vines beginning with a breed-specific meetup May 1, but everyone and every dog is welcome at all meet ups, however, preregistration (free) is required. 10 am to 6 pm. May 6 to 7, 2023 – KW Pet Expo, Kitchener, Ontario
Bring your dog to the dog to this expo focusing on primarily vendors but presentations too from Canine Good Neighbour, Woof Jocks and a pet costume contest. May to October, 2023 – Picks and Pingle’s Summer Festival, Hampton, Ontario
Although not specifically a pet event, the outdoor Picks and Pingle’s Summer Festival is dog friendly (except for the corn fields and apple orchards)! Pick your own corn, wild flowers, and apples depending on season. Well behaved leashed dogs are welcome for $5 extra. 9 am to 4 pm each day – Tuesday to Sunday. Grain & Grit small batch beer brewery in Hamilton hosts a series of events including their annual Dog Day Bash when the parking fills with pet-focused vendors, dogs and their people, and of course glasses of beer. June 10, 2023 – Homeward Bound Canine Carnival, Bowmanville, Ontario

Rescue Ruckus Dog Event offers your dog a chance to try a number of dog sports or activities for one price that benefits a local rescue, specifically a rescue dog needing surgery. The event includes small dog racing, muskrat racing, a lure course in the morning, brush hunt, go-to-ground, small dog vision question in the afternoon, and a potluck lunch and raffle table. $20 for – play-all-day pass for one dog, or $5 event entry free. 9 am to 5 pm.
June *, 2023 – Spring into Summer Pooch Party, Kitchener, Ontario
Dog Friendly KW is hosting a Spring into Summer Pooch Party street festival along Gaukel Street in Kitchener. Vendors, including food vendors, open at noon. There will be live music, photo scavenger hunt, 45 walk/parade downtown, and a late afternoon pack walk through Victoria Park. 12 to 5pm. Free admission.
June 17, 2023 – Pet Lovers’ Market, Ancaster, Ontario
The semi-annual Pet Lovers’ Market features handcrafted items, art and homemade pet treats is on at the Ancaster Fairgrounds in 2021. Available are accessories, treats and healthcare products. Bring your dog to this in-person outdoor pet fun event – Woof-a-Palooza is full of pet exhibitors and vendors, lure course, off-leash play zone, and even a ‘lazy lawn’ fun zone. The 35th annual fundraiser for the London Human Society includes Dog lure course, Sparky’s dock diving, Ultimutts Stunt Dog performances, Cruisin’ Paws Agility shows, Off-leash pond area, Bouncy castles, Silent auction, 50/50 Raffle and dozens of unique product and food vendors. June *, 2023 – Wienerfest Home County Festival, Woodstock, Ontario
All breeds and kinds of dogs are welcome at the Wienderfest Home County Festival but the star is dachshunds – wiener dog races, events and even a weinermobile sighting are promised. Many local vendors will be in attendance too. Proceeds go to Tiny Paws Dog Rescue and Dachshunds in Need. Well-mannered leashed dogs (no flexi-leashes) only please. 9:30 am to 4 pm. June 24 to 25, 2023 – Annual Ruff Mudder, Collingwood, Ontario
The Annual Ruff Mudder Canine Obstacle Adventure 5km obstacle course for you and your dog is on again. That’s right, you can run a 5k with your dog over 80+ obstacles through forest and field. It’s not a race but an experience. Pre-registration is required. $60 per person for Mudder, 4 for $120 and a pack of 10 is $500. Par 6725 Hwy 26, Stayner, Ontario.
June 24 and 25, 2023 – Woofa Roo Pet Fest, Essex County, Ontario
Promoted as Essex County’s only pet and family-friendly festival, Woofa Roo Pet Fest is down days of Dock Diving, Flex Ball, dog agility, pony rides, vendors and more. A silent auction supports local rescue organizations. Admission is only $5. The Libro Complex, 3295 Meloche Road, Amberstburg, Ontario.
July *, 2023 – Muskoka Pet Fest – Huntsville, Ontario
The Muskoka Pet Fest is a summertime pet festival with more than 40 vendors, music and food, agility course, doggie daycare and petting zoo. Admission is $10 and supports local rescues. Huntsville Fairgrounds, 407 Ravenscliff Road, Huntsville. 10 am to 5 pm. Dogs welcome.
July *, 2023- Big Country Fair – Smithville, Ontario

Christmas in July festival is hosted by K9 in Motion Wellness with 75 vendors, dog nail trims, and photos with Santa and intended to raise money for guide dogs. Lions Community Centre, 347 Burnham St., Peterborough, Ontario. 10 am to 4 pm.
July 22, 2023 – PAWS-itively Elgin Pupper Festival – Aylmer, Ontario
Pawsitively Elgin Pupper Festival is a dog-friendly event in support of local rescues sponsored by Pawsitively Elgin and Event Partner Elgin Feeds Country Store. Come out and enjoy Dock Dogs, Lure Course, Agility Details Dog Training, Aylmer Disc Dogs, the Flying Furballs and more. As usual, tons of vendors promised exhibitors including animal rescues, food, nonprofits plus our Kid Entrepreneurs. 8079 Springwater Conservation Area, 47719 Conservation Line, Aylmer. 9 am to 4 pm. $12 per car load or $5 per walk in. The annual 1000 Islands Bark Bash celebrates all things dogs. Meet rescue groups, vendors, dog demonstrations and displays. Admission free. 10 am to 4 pm. July 29, 2023 – Pet Fest, Dorchester, Ontario
Pet Fest is an annual pet festival (last weekend every July) celebrating all things pet; pets in carriers and dogs on leash are permitted to attend. This festival features local vendors, food, rescues, demonstrations, free lure course, craft beer and spirits and a kids’ zone. Summer 2023 – Meaford Pet Expo, Meaford, Ontario

August 11 to 13, 2023 – Kingston Sheep Dog Trials Festival, Kingston, Ontario
Three days of sheep dog events, trials and competitions herding sheep ONLY in 2021. Check out the event and meet many sighthounds including greyhounds, whippets, and saluki. Other non-aggressive leashed dogs welcome during Hugs for Hounds in Elora. September 3, 2023 – Doggie Dip, Oakville, Ontario
If your pup loves water, here’s another option for a doggie swim. The Oakville & Milton Human Society is sponsoring a day in the pool to celebrate the end of the summer season. Participants must prepurchase a time slot and play is limited to 30 minutes per dogy. Small dogs only at noon. $25 per dog. 12 to 4:30 pm. Lions Pool, 159 Felan Ave., Ontario.
September *, 2023 – Pooch Plunge, Burlington, Ontario
Pooch Plunge is a fundraiser for the Burlington Humane Society and gives your pup the opportunity to swim in a public pool with 130 tennis balls and receive a goodie bag from Ren’s. Vendors and local groomer offering nails trims for $10. Only dogs in the pool. Participants are asked to register for specific time slots based on dog size. New’barket’ is Newmarket’s family-friendly dog festival. Dog people will enjoy the selection of pet-related vendors, entertainment, activities, and music. Dash & Splash is a popular annual fundraiser for the Kitchener Waterloo Human Society. Bring your dog to frolic in this public pool and splash pad. The Canadian Pet Expo is one of the biggest pet-themed festivals in Canada with more than 300 vendors, demonstrations, lure courses, and agility presentations – along with a purebred dog competition and reptile show. Canada’s best known dog festival, Woofstock, annual dog festival, this time at Woodbine Park in Toronto’s trendy beaches. Admission is free and dogs are of course welcome. October *, 2023 – Barktoberfest Walk-a-thon, St. Catharines, Ontario
Barktoberfest is one of the most important fundraising events of the year for the Lincoln County Humane Society. Join other dog enthusiasts for this walk-a-thon through Burgoyne Woods. A 1 km or 5 km option is planned. (Also, there’s a great small and big leash-free dog park there). Friendly, leashed dogs welcome on the walk. Raffle, BBQ, and 50/50 draw. 10 am to 3 pm. October *, 2023- Ottawa Pet Expo, Ottawa, Ontario
Otawa’s largest pet-friendly event is the Ottawa Pet Expo with over 200 exhibitors representing all types of pets. TICA cat show, fly ball competitions and expert vets and breeders onsite. EY Centre, 4899 Uplands Drive, Ottawa. Admission is $15 per adult (savings online) and parking is $8.

Join local dog lovers for a Bark in the Park dog costume contest parade at the Carol Disher dog park. Ten vendors and costume parade. All dogs must be leashed and friendly. 11 am to 3 pm. 69 Catherine Street, St. Catharines. Parade is at 1 pm. $10 registration at the event or before.

While not specifically a pet event, the Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Mkers Market is dog friendly. This is the first annual How-o-Ween Costume Parade & Charity Event benefitting the Humane Society & Middlesex New Home. Both dogs and cats are part of the theme. The Big Apple, a favourite stop along the TransCanada Highway between Toronto and Ottawa, is hosting a Halloween dog event at this unique tourist stop. Defined literally by a Big Apple visible from the highway, there’s an off-leash park great for road trip stops. Sponsored by Nutram Pet Products, there’s a free lure course, a costume contest, agility shows at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. The event runs both days 9 am to 4 pm. Pingles Farms is hosting its annual Hollowoof Day, one of several VIP days when the farm is open to people and pets. Leashed dogs can enjoy the 6.5-acre corn maze and country air wagon ride. A new holiday pet event presented by Doggo Events, The Howliday Market features Vendor Village with 60 participants, the tree of treats where your dog can select a mystery gift, a cocktail lounge, and free professional photos with Santa. As part of the farm’s annual tradition, Pingle’s Farm Market is hosting Howl-idays for Dogs On December 11th, each $10 Santa Paws ticket will come with a free pup cake and special dog vendors will be on-site. Admission for people is an additional $15. 9:30 am to 6:30 pm (last entry at 3:30pm). This is part of the farm’s annual Christmas Festival November 27 to December 9 am to 6 pm (last entry at 3 pm), Saturdays and Sundays.
