Enjoy Victor’s reluctant Easter photo shoots – he hates cameras. However, he took one for the team and poised for a nanosecond (literally) as April of Willow Bean Photography quickly snapped.
For only $15, volunteers washed, lathered and dried at least 50 dogs on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Pet Valu in Hamilton, Ontario at the store’s self-bath facility, attached to the full-service dog groomers. Nail trims where courtesy of Dr. Heather McGowen and staff from Glanbrook Veterinary Services – and Gonzo’s Guest House where Victor recently spent five days. They recognized him.
Louisville, Kentucky – the moment I arrive with my dog Victor we’re greeted with “I love your dog,” shouts from across the street. We’re downtown, outside the Aloft Louisville Downtown Hotel and within walking distance of the newly rejuvenated waterfront, this day host to a dog-friendly festival. (See previous article: Travel, Louisville). The Aloft is […]
I love the idea of these dog treats – pup pretzels – but they’re challenging to execute. I found rolling the dough a struggle but I’m no baker. Make whatever shapes you’re able though I love these in a bag with a bow as a gift. Reminds me of visiting NYC during the Westminster Dog […]
Peanut Butter and Oat Balls for Dogs “What’s cooking?” is the first thing people will ask expectantly when these fragrant ‘cookies’ are baking for Fido, likely thanks to the cinnamon. Again, these are easy and require no rolling or cutting. We have our friends at twolittlecavaliers.com to thank for the basis of this recipe, though […]
Got a seasonal business? Got a lot of room? Be great. Create a dog-friendly event during the slow season and attract a slew of people looking for something to do in the dead of winter. Be like Terra Greenhouses in Southern, Ontario, Canada. Family Day is the third Monday of every February in Ontario, Canada. […]
That’s why Victor loved Fort Wellington National Historic Site in Prescott, Ontario, Canada.
I’m not saying Fort Wellington stinks, just the opposite: it’s an ideal stretch and learn stop along the Toronto to Ottawa journey, about 10 minutes from the TransCanada highway.
The lure of the open road is hard to resist especially when you take the dog along … and sometimes that’s challenging when you can’t leave him alone in the hotel room and head to the museum. Clearly, more museums need to be dog friendly. Until that happens, I’m entertaining romantic notions of road tripping […]
‘Fido’ – the sign flashes by as I’m driving – not fast – through Nashville’s congested streets. Specifically, I’m in the ‘Hillsboro’ neighbourhood. ‘Fetch’ is the next sign, about half a block away from Fido. “Awesome,” I think. There’s an independent pet store here a block long. Why else is there a retro neon ‘pet […]
The minute we invented smart phones, Aps and GPS, someone found a new use for those technologies. We don’t only use our phones to call people or take photos anymore – we can contact our kitties with them. We don’t just use GPS to find our way to Aunt Margaret’s new house – we’re using it to find lost dogs.
