Travel San Diego: Check out the dogs at the zoo. That’s right. Dogs.

However, you can still see dogs at the zoo. Currently, two live there – with cheetahs. Yes, cheetahs.

The Quest Continues: Searching for One of a Kind Pet Stuff in Toronto

According to the Chinese calendar, 2018 is the Year of the Dog, but at the One of a Kind Spring Show in Toronto this weekend, it’s the season of the cat.   Sure, there’s some dog stuff at this semi-annual artisan extravaganza in Toronto, Ontario – including some we met last winter (see article here) […]

prize pack of Espree dog shampoo

Dog Bath Time: Meet Espree, Victor’s Nemesis (and enter a contest)

Victor’s curly tight black cocker/poodle fur makes him a canine air filter, walking through the world gathering any and all the dirt you can imagine. Yes, a week after a grooming appointment, he smells  a bit ripe.

But it’s when I see all the brown water filtering down the drain during a bath I realize, that’s snuggling up in my bed each night. Ick.

Pup Treat Recipe Day 3: Snowflake Oat and Peanut Butter Dog Snacks

Does eat oats and mares eat oats and little lambs might eat ivy …. but my dog Victor and his buddy are eating homemade oat dog treats this week. I’ll be rolling some not so wild ones this week, trying out (and modifying where necessary) some oat-based dog treat recipes I’ve found online. Plus, I’ll […]

Four-ingredient Oat Treats for Dogs and Horses Whenever we’ve got guests – or we are babysitting one fur-friend – I get out the cooking baking sheet and start experimenting with dog treat recipes. Most batches make more than Victor can eat, plus he’s a little picky, so having an extra set of canines in the […]

The Future is Now: Four New Tech Pet Products You Need (Maybe)

The minute we invented smart phones, Aps and GPS, someone found a new use for those technologies. We don’t only use our phones to call people or take photos anymore – we can contact our kitties with them. We don’t just use GPS to find our way to Aunt Margaret’s new house – we’re using it to find lost dogs.

Travel Toronto: One-of-a-Kind Handmade and Ruff Ruff Ready (stuff for dogs)

One-of-a-Kind Show and Sale is my favourite holiday tradition (next to Boxing Day). From November 23 to December 3, 2017, the halls are decked at Toronto, Ontario’s Exhibition Place tradeshow floor with hundreds of Canada’s best artists, crafters, independent clothing designers and artisan food producers. And handcrafted pet gear, of course.

Spoiling the Dog with Pumpkin Waffles: Day 4

Yes, this is a recipe for dog waffles full of healthy pumpkin, rice flour (instead of wheat, so no gluten) and a squirt of that special waffle ingredient: salmon oil, because who doesn’t like a hint of fish with their waffle?

Dogs at Pawlooza 2017 dogtrotting.net

Travel London, ON: Pawlooza or Bust! (again)

That’s right. On the third Saturday in August from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm every year, tens of thousands of people, thousands of dogs, and hundreds of cars descend on the Plunkett Estates for the incredibly popular annual Pawlooza dog festival celebrating all things pets with activities all day including dock diving competitions in the lake-sized pond.
