I don’t eat a lot of breakfast cereal. And by a lot, I mean none. So, for this dog treat recipe, I had to head down the cereal aisle in the grocery store – and there is an entire aisle – to find the Cheerios.
Now the only cereal in the house is for the dog – kind of. I pulled together this dog-treat recipe quickly and easily with moderate success: My picky pup actually ate a few.
If cereal is a staple in your house, this recipe might be an answer to a crunchy dog-biscuit shortage. It also looks a bit festive and might be great for a ‘gotcha’ party.
What you need:
¼ cup of peanut butter (NO xylitol – check the label)

2 cups of Honey Nut Cheerios
1 cup of flour
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
What you do:
Preheat oven to 350F
Warm peanut butter in large bowl using the microwave – about 30 seconds.

Add all the ingredients into the goo and mix well.
Drop 1-inch balls onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Using a spoon, I got about eight balls and flattened them slightly with the back of the spoon.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool.
If your pup likes crunchy treats, this is a good one.
