Pugs for the win! National Dog Show Winner … Now on Sale

The 2024 National Dog Show winner has inspired our Cyber Monday sale! Check out the crazy Pug Print travel accessories below – all from dogtrotting.net’s online shop called ‘Tripping with Paw Prints,’ And all pug prints are on sale this week only.

But first, let’s celebrate Vito, the 2.5-year-old perfect pug from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Best in Show winner of the 2024 National Dog Show. Hosted by The Kennel Club of Philadelphia, The National Dog has been an American television Thanksgiving tradition for 23 years. And a dog show fan tradition for 92 years.

While slightly younger than its Westminster counterpart (which returns to Madison Square Gardens NYC in 2025 – and we plan to be there), the National Dog Show receives a lot of attention nonetheless thanks to airing on US television after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade every year.

What do we know about Vito the pug? Well, Best in Show is his most prestigious title to date. But here are a few other wins:

  • Vito the pug was Best in Breed at the AKC Annual Dog Show in 2023
  • Vito was also Best in Breed at Westminster 2024
  • His handler is Michael Scott who, in 2008, was the handler for Best in Show winner Holly the Pointer.

According to a National Dog Show press release, judge George Milutinovich stated “Compact, features, movement – everything a pug should be.”

We’ll likely see Vito in New York City next February. In the meantime, check out the hand sewn Tripping with Paw Prints funky pug print book sleeves and travel shoe bags. Book sleeves are on sale for $10 (regularly $15) and the travel shoe bags are 2 for $25 (regularly $15). Shoe bags in a suitcase protect your clothes from your shoes; book sleeves protect your books from everything else in your bag.

Curious about who else won big at the 2024 National Dog Show? The following are the other 2024 National Dog Show Group Winners:

  • Sporting – a Clumber Spaniel named “Houston” of Keyport, New Jersey.
  • Working – a Giant Schnauzer named “Monty” from Chaplin, Connecticut.
  • Hound – an Ibizan Hound named “The Zit” of Spring Hill, Florida.
  • Herding – a Berger Picard named “Rupert” of Shingle Springs, California.
  • Non-Sporting – a Lhasa Apso named “JJ” from Sabot, Virginia.

Does Tripping with Paw Prints have all the breeds? No, not even close. Most fabric prints from Tripping with Paw Prints sport assorted breeds or cute cartoonish representations. The pugs are a rare combo of both …

SALE! Plucky Pug Print Book Sleeve $10 (regularly $15) and Pug Shoe Bag 2 for $25 – $12. 50 (regularly $15 each). Check them out, and more, here.

However, if the hand-crafted versions don’t appeal to you, check out these zippered travel shoe bags (available on Amazon here). And you know that company’s having a Cyber Monday sale too.
