Merry Christmas 2018 … Annual Dog Photo Celebration!

dog with santa www.dogtrotting.netWoof Woof Woof. It’s that time of year again when I bundle the fur baby into some cute outfits (check out his Chilly Dog sweateraffiliate link) and whisk him off to see Santa.

What secrets he shared, I don’t know … maybe to be done with photo shoots. But whatever he asked for I’m sure it’s from the dogtrotting gift guide.

This year, we supported local rescues and even took Victor’s best buddy Sasha along to experience her first encounter with Old Saint Nick.

AARF-Animal Angel Rescue

First stop was a visit with Father Christmas who we’ve met before but this time the photo shoot by HollyBerry Photography was supporting AARF – Animal Angel Rescue Foundation. AARF rescues dogs, many elderly, from rural animal control facilities, humane societies and vets, that would otherwise be euthanized. PetValu in Hamilton, Ontario hosted.

SPCA Hamilton/Burlington

The following week, Victor met the traditional Santa at Ren’s Pet Depot in Ancaster, Ontario. This time we took Sasha along and supported our old friend The SPCA of Hamilton/Burlington (our annual walk-a-thon recipient).

Mid-December we were back at Ren’s Pet Store in Ancaster, Ontario to support the Pantry Four Paws, a local cat rescue and food bank for pets. That’s right, this volunteer-lead registered charity provides pet food to those experiencing temporary financial set backs preventing the need to surrender wanted pets. But Pantry Four Paws also rescues abandoned, sick and injured cats placing them in foster, then eventually permanent, homes.

Finally, we did something a little different…

Our town’s BIA – promoting local businesses – hosted a free photo with Santa event at the historic Grand Trunk Railway station (we visited here on a Ghost Tour) two weekends before Christmas. Ok, it was officially for kids, but ‘well mannered dogs’ were also welcome. Fortunately, with Santa present Victor minded his Ps & Qs long enough for a photo or two.

Of course, this isn’t the only year we’ve taken photos with Santa…  it’s not even the only time we’ve taken photos with Father Christmas. Check out Victor’s previous Jolly Old St. Nick encounters here. ecos spray

Dog photo hint: No one wants to cuddle a stinky dog (except maybe another stinky dog). So before each adventure I spritz Victor with ECOS quick rinse between bath spray (Amazon.com affiliate link) … something that travels with us. Simply spray all over then wipe off with a towel (or Soggy Doggy) and dog fur is fresh and minty smelling. Added bonus: all ECOS products are eco-friendly including cleaning supplies.
