How to Deal with Pet Loss. Or why we are in the SPCA Walk-a-Thon.

I’ve been reading advice from other pet parents about how to deal with such loss – one not always understood by those outside the ‘pet enthusiast’ community. Most pet parents have dealt with this issue at some time, so (unfortunately) I’m in good company.

I’m no grief expert, but here are some ways I’m attempting to deal with pet loss. Maybe some might work for you too.

Before finding his way to my home – his fourth and final – Victor was surrendered to a shelter … twice. Something I’m sure he hasn’t forgotten. But he’s been with me almost four years and hopefully visions of homelessness are as distant as the poodle-crosses and baby strollers we’re leaving in our wake today.
