Dog Halloween: What to Wear and Where to Wear It – Guide to Spooky Pet Fun

Last year, Victor celebrated Halloween as Sushi. That’s right. A cute piece of sushi that served as both puffy jacket while he walked a strike picket line with me (yup) and weathered the rain at a Halloween Dog Walk fundraiser along Hamilton, Ontario’s Bay Front Park.

This Halloween, we shake it up. He’s a unicorn.

Yes, thanks to the folks at Pet Krewe pet costumes for sending us a unicorn costume to review, Victor is feeling magical and mythical. Designed in New Oreleans, Pet Krewe sailor_head_tilt_largeoffers an assortment of holiday pet costumes from sailors to spiders, pirates to Santa Clause and some for cats too!

It took me a few tries to figure out these costume head pieces have two draw strings – one for around the neck and one for around he face. You need to tighten both for the costume to stay on.

Plus, not being one to follow instructions, I initially missed some helpful hints on the package: tie the cords prior to putting the custom on … tie the cords into bows after you’ve got the hat in place. We’ll give that a try trick or treating.

In the meantime …. here’s some of Victor’s friends ‘unleashing the parade’ and giving Pet Krewe Unicorn Costume a try:

Buster, the farm dog, good-natured about the experience, but was having nothing to do with getting dressed up….

Sasha, Victor’s best gal pal was characteristically easy-going, indulgent and willing to poise as a mythical half elk, half unicorn creature of lore….
