  5. […] It was the base that initially tripped me up – where do you find a rubber foundation wide enough to wedge fleece strips through, but close enough together to make the process a bit challenging for the dog? I used a rubber sink liner I found in the dollar store, specifically a Better Crocker brand for $2.50. Then I gathered up the fleece squares left over from my obsession with making fleece dog blankets. […]

  9. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Karen Larocque and my husband, Mark and I own Canine Watersports Canada. We produce the best possible dock jumping competitions in the world of dock jumping. Our mission is to provide the highest standard of professionalism and integrity for our competitors, sponsors, and hosts while providing spectators hours of entertainment that will allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy the most unique and fastest growing dog sport in Canada today!

Imagine for a moment, the sight of a happy, high-spirited dog waiting with breathless anticipation at one end of a 36-foot dock. At the other end, the dog’s handler stands before a 45-foot pool, dangling an enticing floatable toy. In an instant, the dog–energized by the sudden swell of a cheering crowd–speeds down the dock just as the handler hurls the toy skyward. The dog jumps off the edge of the dock, flying over 20 feet through the air in hot pursuit, before his awesome splashdown into the pool.

    1. Thank you so much for reading dogtrotting.net. Unfortunately, I don’t arrange pet festivals but only attend them. Dogtrotting.net is about finding dog friendly places and activities. If you know of any pet festivals coming up in Nova Scotia, please let me know – I’m always updating our events listings.

It is hard to find Barkswortthies in my area anymore. Which is strange because they were developed in Richmond VA or used to be. Victoria looks beautiful in her new robe. Happy Valentines Day.

    1. Thank you! I saw that robe in a dog FB group I’m in and thought, Victoria needs that one too. I met Barkworthies at SuperZoo. I’m not sure where they are selling – I’ve seen them in a few stores near me. However, distribution seems to be an issue for everyone right now.
