Photos with Santa … for good causes. Forget cards. Support pet rescues!

Choose your favourite Christmas card … Here they are!

Instead of printing and mailing cards this year, I schlepped my terrier-cross Victor to pet rescue Holiday Picture fundraisers and got his photo taken with Santa.

Was he thrilled? You be the judge.

Take a look:

First Stop: The Hamilton-Burlington SPCA photo day on November 19, 2016 at the Home Hardware on Dartnell Road, Hamilton, Ontario. (Last year, this ten-day event at various locations raised $10,000). The $15 fee supported the SPCA where I first met my beloved and deeply-missed cat Kaitlynn. This is my first Christmas without her in 17 years.

(Update: the HBSPCA raised $11,186 at the photo with your pet event 2017)

Next Stop: We headed to Ancaster, Ontario on the same day to meet Father Christmas and support the Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue based in Hagersville, Ontario (a rescue we featured on horsetrotting.net). Here, we picked up Victor’s nutcracker Christmas collar and bow tie from Made in the Hammer, our favourite handcrafted pet-accessory creator. Photos by Hullahoop Photography. Event was sponsored by Yellow Dog Grooming.

Final Stop: Munchies Barkery and Cafe in Hamilton, Ontario on December 3, 2106. For $10, we got a digital photo and supported two rescues: 1. Ladybird Animal Sanctuary that saves cats – and guinea pigs, bunnies and dogs – from high-kill shelters and fosters them and until forever homes are found. 2. Texas Chihuahua Rescue (Ontario Chapter). We missed the pics with The Grinch (drat), so Victor’s on his own for this shot. Photo by Bill Watson.

Ta Da! Pick your favourite card and help us share the love via Facebook, Twitter or Pintrest.

I understanding Traumatizing our kids, but our pets are innocent and shouldn’t be force to sit on scary Santa Claus’s lap. Poor Victor. He seems unsure, but very co operative. 🙂

    1. Very funny. Vic was fine but he did beeline it outside for a big run
