Enjoy a Spicy Fall: 5 New Pumpkin Pet Products for Dogs

little fluffy black dog

Fall might be pumpkin magic for some, but for me pumpkin season doesn’t start until I see bins of pumpkins in the grocery stores and jack-o-lanterns in the windows. Dog-themed carvings, even better.

Clearly pumpkin lattes are off limits for our furry friends, but pumpkin pleasures are still on the menu for Fido – especially if you visited SuperZoo 2019 in August, like I did. So much pumpkin pet stuff, so little space in my luggage.

Here is the dogtrotting.net round-up of pumpkin themed, scented or flavoured pet products:

1. Awesome Pawsome Super Pumpkin Recipe Dog Treatsbag of awesome pawsome super pumpkin dog treats

‘Give ‘em something pumpkin to bark about,’ reads the label so who wouldn’t notice? My dog isn’t a big pumpkin fan, but he liked sampling these soft vegan treats just his size.

The Super Pumpkin Recipe Dog Treats from Awesome Pawsome (affiliate link) are made in New Zealand from pumpkin (obviously), potatoes and tapioca with added turmeric. Plus, fat content is only six percent and less than ten percent is something I select for my aging pup.

2. Jiminy’s Crickets Chewy Training Treats two bags of jiminy's crickets dog treats

We’ve tried Jiminy’s treats before (check it out here) – well, my dog tried them – and soft was the preference.

These Jiminy’s Pumpkin and Carrot Recipe (affiliate link) are soft and easy to chew, plus the protein source is crickets which is humane, hypoallergenic, and easy on the planet. Fat content is also six percent.

A bag of The Missing Link pet kelp formula probiotic3. The Missing Link Pet Kelp Formula Probiotic

A limited ingredient superfood supplement, this Pet Kelp Formula from The Missing Link (affiliate linkclaims to harvest the nutrients from sea kelp fed to maritime dogs for 400 years. But this supplement isn’t only kelp – The Missing Link formula combines probiotics, organic pumpkin, organic flaxseed with the kelp to improve overall digestion.

Fat content is only five percent and my geriatric dog is going to give this supplement a try as soon as we have vet clearance.

4. Pet House Pumpkin Spice Air Fresheners

It’s not all about eating. Household pet products are the next thing. I loved these paw-shaped scented Pet House Wax Melts (affiliate link) perfect for any heated melter including All Fur One Pet House’s own version honouring the loss of a pet. (Great gift). Pet House candles are 100 percent soy wax (so no harmful soot) and made in the USA. My car is pumpkin fresh too – paw-shaped rear-view mirror air freshers are my new auto accessory.

5. Charlee Bear Bearnola BitesTwo bags of Charlee Bear dog treat bites

Charlee Bear is a known dog treat brand in the USA. But new line this year is granola inspired: Charlie Bear Bearnola Bites (affiliate link) look like bite-sized crunchy clusters you’d carry on a hike, and that might be a good idea.

At 13 percent, these treats are a bit high in fat for an older dog but good energy for a younger one. Flavours include P.B & Honey and of course Pumpkin Spice.
