Twenty years. It’s been twenty years since the cult classic film The Big Lebowski was released by dynamic director duo the Coen Brothers.
It’s been one year since dogtrotting.net attended SuperZoo, the annual pet industry trade show in Las Vegas.
Strangely, I’m combining the two into a contest:
Leave a comment below – Are you a Big Lebowski fan? (You don’t have to be) and you’ll be entered a draw to win The Big LeBarkski prize pack from Carolina Pets and dogtrotting.net. Two stuffed toys (a bowling pin and bowling ball – if you’ve seen the movie you get it) and a Pendleton print dog sweater. (Amazon affiliate link) Open to Canadian and US residents until July 15, 2018.
Note: the sweater says size large but they run small. This will fit a dog smaller than a cocker spaniel.
The Pendleton Big LeBarkski collection was by Carolina Pet Company last year at SuperZoo17.
Well, dogtrotting.net is back at one of the largest pet industry shows in the world (I think – it feels that way) in Las Vegas and I’m going to try something new: live posting.
Follow dogtrotting.net this week and I’ll keep you posted about the latest trends, products and ideas perfect for your fur pets and more.
Oh, and follow me on twitter: @sherritelenko
Here goes… 12 hours of trade show fun then blog posting throughout the week.
Stay tuned….

The Big Lebowski? Never seen it. But I still lived in Eastern Europe when it came out. Is it that good that I should check it out?

Well, I wouldn’t go out of my way to do so unless you’re curious to see why it’s a cult class. If you liked Fargo, you might like it. But … the dog stuff is more fun.

Yikes – I can’t believe it’s been so long since the cult hit came out. My husband was a fan, me not so much. The prize pack looks fun. Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦😍

I does seem to be a bit of a guy movie… I’m not really a fan of ‘screw up’ dude movies, either.

I would have loved to attend Superzoo – but it must have been exhausting to attend & post every night! I’ve never seen this movie, it’s totally new to me but the prize pack looks adorable!

I’m also not familiar with the Big Lebowski. You’re going to be awfully busy with SuperZoo and posting every night!

The Big Lebowski is a family favorite at my house! I think my dog Theo would look great in the sweater and he’d love the toys too.

It’s a film by the same guys who did Fargo. Originally I had to look it up too. Seems people either don’t know it – or love it.

Innocent here as I was not born in the States I do not know much about the movie so please accept my apologies BUT the toys look awesome and Layla would look cute in the sweater. Am going to have to google all about this. Thanks for the give away

I didn’t know much about it either and watched it for the first time a few years ago, only because it has this weird cult following, like most Coen brothers films. I liked it ok – I also only liked, not loved, Fargo too.

Yup I Googled it and everything. I though, well perfect timing. The internet loves an anniversary.

That’s the thing about dog toys – and maybe why there’s so many on the market – they’re ‘consumable’ and we always need more. I love cleaning stuffing off the entire living room floor! Thanks for entering!

I’ve never seen The Big Lebowski movie. I’ve heard of it, just never seen it. Don’t think it’s my type of movie, honestly. But,I know my grandma’s dog Tuke would LOVE these toys. Thanks for the chance to win!

Me too I only saw it a few years ago because I heard people talking about it. I didn’t see it when it first came out. Thanks for entering!

Sure thing. The sweater is cute with or without knowing anything about the movie. It’s actually a Pendleton print not designed specifically for the film. (I’m usually not crazy about deadbeat guy flicks either…. )

Oh my god! When I saw the big Lebowski display at global I FREAKED OUT! The sweater is so amazing! I’ve been hoping to get one so I can do a photo shoot at a bowling ally (sp?) with some White Russians!
I tolerate the movie (but still giggle when it’s on) my husband is in love with this movie, so much so he had contemplated going to their yearly gathering!

I’m only learning what a cult following that film has – I say it once. On tv. But I love dog sweaters!

Ok, you sure know a lot about this film. Yearly gathering? For real? Wow. Thanks for entering… (however, I do love the occasional white Russian).

OMG! This is the best! The Big Lebowski was the first movie my dog ever saw. She was only a puppy and where I lived they were showing it on a large screen at a local park. I had never seen it before and really wanted to go. I dragged my husband out of his comfy clothes and robe and we went to the park with our folding chairs to enjoy. The funniest thing was they had a costume contest and of course the winning prize with someone dressed up as The Dude in a robe. My husband was so mad I made him change. LOL. My dog loves the movie (although she didn’t make it through the whole thing and fell asleep at the end). I think she enjoyed the pets and attention from all the people watching in the park. I would love to share this prize pack with her because we love this classic movie!

Wow. I’m surprised there’s so many fans of this film – and winning wearing a bathrobe seems a bit easy. The only size sweater I have is a dog’s L, which is really a medium for a dog smaller than a cocker spaniel .

The Big Lebowski is one of my top 50 movies of all time! Plus my dog Sammy would look adorable in the sweater!

Top 50? Wow. I’m not sure I could list that many films. The company gave me only one size sweater to give away – it would fit a dog smaller than a cocker.
