Just when I thought I’d seen every product or idea possible at a dog expo, my dog Victor became a label model on CandidKnines home baked treats for dogs. And it only took five minutes.
His friend Sasha too – and she wasn’t even there.
Here’s how it works: Go to the first Canadian Pet Expo held in Niagara Falls, June 9 & 10, 2018 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
Ok, clearly you can’t go back in time, but I went to the Niagara Canadian Pet Expo and that’s where I met Nicole from CandidKnines. She’s got a unique idea: text her a photo of your dog, she’ll print a label on a sticker and that sticker goes on a bag of CandidKnine dog treats, home baked in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Chose from one or all three flavours: cheesy cheese, pumpkin, and peanut butter.
If you didn’t get to the pet expo this weekend – check out CandidKines on line. Select a flavour (ordering three bags is the same postage as one so try all three), upload a photo of your pet and its name – the name is on the label too for that personal touch. Then order and watch the mail.
Or send customized pet treats as a gift to another pet parent. How fun is that?
The Niagara Canadian Pet Expo is run by the same company that’s host The Canadian Pet Expo in Toronto each year. It was well attended but not nearly as crowded as the Toronto version so access to the WoofJocks Show, Dog Lovers Days lure course, agility course and outdoor dock diving sponsored by Blue Buffalo was easier. Plus, no nightmare line ups.

WoofJocks attracted amused fans during several shows throughout the day. WoofJocks Canine All Stars perform often at various festivals around Southern Ontario – it’s group of dog handlers and trainers with talented pups who jump, dance, tug and chase flying discs to their hearts’ content, while teaching us a thing or two about the human/dog bond.

A jumping competition where jumps get progressively higher and little dogs get progressively impressive opened the day:
The Canadian Pet Expo, of course, isn’t just about dogs. Feline fans could join the pedigreed cat show at the back of the building and even small ‘pocket pets’ had their day with guinea pig, bunny, and hedgehog judging competitions. And ‘alternative’ to furry pets – parrots, reptiles, jelly fish and even an aardvark – represented too.

Hit the send button too early. LOL Anyway, a friend of mine in NC was at a pet show and found some treats from a company called “Tippy’s Treats.” Of course, she bought some for my Tippy. I was touched by her thoughtfulness. So, this makes lots of sense.
I was surprised at how fast and easy it was – and no more expensive than other home made treats. Tippy’s Treats sound good…
