Travel Toronto, ON: Legoland and the most photographed (Lego) Dog in Town

Lego dog dogtrotting.netOk, this isn’t a real dog, and this place isn’t dog friendly.

But when I was there, this Lego dog sculpture was the most hugged and photographed at The Legoland® Discovery Centre in Vaughan, Ontario (inside the Vaughan Mills Outlet Mall) near Toronto.

This one’s for the kids, though the only Canadian Legoland has an adult-amusing elaborate interactive mini version of Toronto built entirely out of Legos, along with Niagara Falls with real water, the Toronto Zoo with pop-up bear and the Ontario Parliament Buildings with video fireworks.lego man dogtrotting.net

Here’s what else:

  • A fun simplified version of Lego manufacturing where you can find out your height and weight in Legos
  • Four 12-minute 4D (3D plus temperature changes) films
  • An amusement park-style flying on Merlin’s Ride
  • And laser shooting on the Kingdom Quest train.

All are included in the price of admission ($22 at the door or $15 online). The Lego City Play Zone is for climbing, crawling and general energy release … kind of just like a dog park. But the kids have to share their toys.

  1. […] Vaughn Mills Outlet Mall, one of the province’s largest outlet shopping malls and home to the LegoLand Discovery Centre, and the dog-friendly Bass Pro Shops for outdoor gear – that’s the only place dog […]

  2. Sounds like a nice place to visit. I can see how the lego pup was the most photographed item there. It is pretty darn cute.

    1. Yup. A lot of kids, mostly little girls, wanted to hug him. (And yes, they glue the sculptures together).

      1. It’s good that they glue them together. They wouldn’t last long otherwise.

  3. What a super fun place to visit!!! I’m not sure I want to know my weight in Legos though….:p

    1. Thanks. I didn’t stand on that scale. In fact, I rarely stand on any scale…
